Editorial Policy

Last updated: May 12, 20263 min readBy the NatalCalculator.com Editorial Team · Reviewed for Astrological Accuracy

This page describes how content on NatalCalculator.com is written, reviewed, and maintained.

Content standards

Every interpretive page is written by a person who has practised astrology for at least five years. We do not generate interpretive prose with large language models. We use AI tools for tasks like spell-checking, code completion, and translation review, but the substantive content is written by hand and reviewed by a second person before publication.

Fact-checking

Astronomical claims (orbital periods, ayanamsa values, ephemeris accuracy figures) are verified against primary sources — Jean Meeus's Astronomical Algorithms, JPL Horizons, the published VSOP87 and ELP-2000 series. Historical claims (dates of texts, attributions to figures like Ptolemy or Parashara) are verified against academic references. Interpretive claims are presented as drawn from the received tradition, not as empirical findings; where modern research has tested astrological claims, we note the results honestly even when they are unflattering to astrology.

How interpretations are written

Each interpretive paragraph begins from the received astrological tradition (the texts and the practice of working astrologers) and is then tested against client experience and our own reading of the placement. We avoid horoscope-style flattery and avoid catastrophising; both are common failure modes of online astrology content. We try to write the way a careful practitioner speaks to a client — honestly, with depth, without certainty where certainty is not warranted.

Disclaimer

Astrology is presented on this site for entertainment and personal reflection. It is not medical advice, legal advice, financial advice, or a substitute for professional help. If you are in crisis, please contact a qualified professional or a crisis service in your country. Decisions about health, finances, relationships, and major life events should be made with appropriate professional input. Astrology is a useful lens, not a prescription.

Update policy

Content is reviewed at least annually for accuracy and currency. Major errors are corrected immediately on report; minor improvements are batched into periodic updates. The changelog records substantive changes. Date of last review is shown on each major content page.

Corrections

To report a factual error or interpretive concern, contact us via the contact page. We respond to substantive corrections within a week and publish acknowledged corrections in the changelog. Our reference list is maintained on the sources page.

Use of AI tools

We use AI tools for tasks like spell-checking, code completion, and structural review. Interpretive and substantive content is written by human practitioners and reviewed by a second person before publication. We do not publish AI-generated interpretations of astrological placements without human review and editing. If a future workflow changes this, we will say so on this page.

Advertising

NatalCalculator.com may carry display advertising on content pages. Advertising does not influence editorial decisions. We do not publish sponsored content or paid placement without a clear disclosure. The calculator result pages will not carry advertising. Our editorial and commercial operations are separate.
